Whether a young mathematician is developing number sense or a secondary mathematician is developing functional fluency, multiple representations play a pivotal role. The Multiple Representation Activities resources are available to support building these fluencies. Also, using an adaptation of the classic Frayer model applied to mathematical representations supports building these fluencies at the point of instruction. The Multiple Representation Model can be used as a note-taking guide, as an assessment probe, or as a spiraling review. Five representations are given for each model.
